\\: something about me...

My name is Nurul Azri Mohd Radzi, from Malaysia. I'm cuurently working as a pre-sales support personel. After 6 month unemployed :).

I started off with my personal site after my studies. During that time I'm able to complete my long abandoned project which is my own personal site. Well, I got it done a couple years back, under other web hosting services but it's quite dull. I've twice created a site but the other two was not quite as good as this. Now, it has been given a more refine touch and a cleaner look. I must admit that I'm not good at art. I've played around with GIMP and Photoshop, but I just couldn't find that touch. So I got this PageKit from Elated.com. Honestly, there's quite a lot of improvement in terms of knowledge that I've get over the years... Thanks to the Net and a handful of easily accessible books in Malaysia.

I enjoyed practicing networking, tweaking and learning about OSes and doing graphics (I'm still not that good yet). Over the past two years I got the opportunity to handle and manage my college computer facilities which was a good playground for me to gain knowledge. Couple of things that I've brought in to the college office environment is the networking paradigm... the old way of doing things around here is the 'Sneaker Net' where you travel around carrying your diskettes for portability. That would be time consuming and unproductive so I manage to get the management to approve on a small networking facilities such as internetworking, small workgroup hubs and a centralize print server. Overall it was a great improvement in the way people do things and it's more efficient. What is more amazing is that it's done within a friction of cost! I'm thinking of writing an article on that someday.

Last year I even got the chance to setup to internetworking facilities for the supervisor's houses and the college's principal. It was then that I put into play my knowledge in networking, though it's just a small setup but it gave me a lot of experience. I've got 2 boxes of Freesco's router acting as caching DNS, firewall, IP-masquerading and DHCP for dynamic IP assignment. I'll get the details online if there's time.

My real interest is in OSes particularly in Linux and UNIX OSes. I started using Linux about three years back and it was great. I got myself signed up in the local LUG (Linux User Group) to learn more. Interestingly, now I'm pursuing certification on MCSE... people around me keep on asking the same question, "Are you turning your back on Linux?"... "No!", Linux is a great OS and it'll continue to be and improve. It's just that I would like to learn more on Windows 2000 technology and get the recognition in handling them. Besides that I'm also focusing on CCNA and LPI for my other certifications. It's just that I don't have enough money for the exams... It's quite(? VERY!) expensive. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to achieve my MCSE certification by end of this year (2002).

Well, that very much tell more or less about me... I tend not to talk on my personal details cause it'll bored you to death right? Get in touch for any guides, articles and downloads on my site.

* MCSE - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
* CCNA - CISCO Certified Network Associates
* LPI - Linux Professional Institute
